T-Mobile UK have today announced on their official twitter account that the upcoming G1 Touch Android phone (HTC Hero), will now be known as the G2 Touch.

T-Mobile have also confirmed that the G2 Touch handset is still on track for launch later this month, but exact pricing and tariff information has yet to be officially announced.
The G2 Touch will also be available on the Orange UK network as the HTC Hero. Available in an exclusive graphite finish, the Hero will be available free to new Orange customers as part of a 2-year contract with the network.
It is believed the T-Mobile G2 Touch will be available free to new customers as part of an 18 month contract on their Flext tariff priced at £40 per month.
