Boy Genius Report have received confirmation that Verizon’s highly anticipated Motorola Droid and HTC Droid Eris handsets will both launch on the same day.
Citing informed sources, the two upcoming Verizon Android phones are expected to launch on November 6th, with an official announcement expected later today.

Unlike the Motorola Droid, the Droid Eris will be powered by Android 1.5 and feature an older 528 MHz CPU. Whilst both handsets are believed to have the same launch date, the Droid Eris is expected to be offered as a cheaper and more basic alternative to Motorola’s flagship Android debut, the Motorola Droid.
The Motorola Droid will be powered by the recently unveiled Android 2.0 Eclair update.
