Oracle Sues Google, Saying Android Violates Java Copyrights

On Thursday, Oracle stated that they will be suing Google, because Oracle thinks Android OS infringed on the intellectual property of Oracles Java Platform.

Google is no stranger to lawsuits. The most recent being Viacom’s billion-dollar lawsuit against YouTube/Google claiming that YouTube infringed on its copyrights and allowed offending contents to stay on its website, knowingly. A federal judge ruled in favor with YouTube/Google. Viacom has filed an appeal.

Oracle is claiming that Google also knowingly violated copyright protection and Java patent. Oracle and Google, both were not available for comment immediately.

Oracle is seeking an injunction to stop Google/You Tube from further building Android plus higher monetary damages for willful and deliberate infringement, According to MSNBC.

Back in April 2009, Oracle acquired the java software with a $5.6 billion takeover of Sun Microsystems.
