LG Optimus M, MetroPCS’s first android phone is ready for sale from today. Available at stores and online for $ 229, Optimus M comes with a 3.2″ touch screen, QWERTY keypad and a 3.2 mega-pixel camera. The phone runs on Android 2.2 Froyo OS. The phone is one of the most high-end phones of the Optimus series with MetroPCS offering consumers a $ 50 contract which allows them unlimited text, talk and data services.
In this context, Roger Linquist, chairman, president and CEO of MetroPCS said that with Optimus M, the company is
fulfilling the need of consumers looking for an affordable Android smartphone loaded with value-rich features.
It is to be noted that earlier this month, the company had announced that it has expanded its 4G and 2G footprints to cover nearly 90% of the US population and has also turned on its LTE network in Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Bakersfield, CA.
