Motorola will launch their second Android phone on T-Mobile, the CLIQ XT, on March 10 for $129 with 2 yr contract or $329 off contract. At only $129, this will be the cheapest debut price of any T-Mobile Android phone. The specs of this phone are exactly the same as last year’s T-Mobile CLIQ and it even features the same Android 1.5 with Motoblur.

AT&T’s first Android device is coming down the pipeline next week, the Motorola Backflip, for $99 on a 2-year contract on March 7. Other than being disappointed with the industrial design of this device there might be something else to complain about. A recent hands-on by Engadget’s Chris Zeigler found that all of the default Google search was taken out of the device and replaced with Yahoo search (which will use Bing soon enough). Let me repeat that; all Google search is taken out of AT&T’s Android device in favor of Yahoo search.

It’s not to say that the stock web browser found on the Nexus One and Motorola DROID aren’t bad, but the two handsets were recently seen running Mozilla’s Fennec mobile browser. Mozilla has been in the web browser game for quite some time and really knows how to make the experience impressive for its users, but it’s slowly coming together for the Android platform. The Mozilla team provided some teaser photos of the mobile browser at work on both handsets on their Facebook page – still, there is no confirmation regarding the time line of when a public build of the mobile browser will become available. Even if it does take some time to come around, it’s going to have to compete against some other well known browsers on the platform that already proven themselves to meet the needs of handset owners.
