This often times lead users to find “alternative” ways of obtaining these highly sought after apps. Paid apps usually offer more features and more options versus their free counterpart. Most of the time there is no free version so if you want the app, you just cant get it through the Android Market.

The hopes of some users for this to land on T-Mobile has been squashed (for now). Dell are in talks with AT&T to offer the Mini 5 on their network possibly subsidized. The Mini 5 will indeed be compatible with the Android Market and there is a strong possibility for future Dell tablets to choose resistive screens over capacitive.

Slacker, Inc. has finally unveiled their v2.0 of their software for Android handsets the big update in this new version is that Slacker Radio Plus. This edition allows users to cache their favorite radio stations and listen to them offline. That means you can have your music with you whether you have a data connection or not. This is great for users that has Android devices with no data plans. You can hop on WIFI, cache all your music and still have it with you while you are on the go.

As of this morning, Android users now have an official eBay app available in the Market. But that does come with a slight catch because the app seems to require 1.6 or later and at this time is only available for those in the US. But moving forward, for those that are in the US and are on 1.6 or later…

If you are from the UK this is great news for you. BBC has an Android app in the works and it should be available soon in the Android Market. This app will aim to delivery the full BBC news experience bringing not only news but sports as well and there is a chance that the iplayer, which is a video service that allows you to catch up on news you missed, will be included also.

The long awaited WordPress App has finally arrived in the Android Market. Android Community uses a version of this open source blogging program, this will come in handy for yours truly as well as a few others.

If you used wpToGo app you will be able to just download and get work on your posts, it is essentially an upgraded version of wpToGo free version that has been in the market. Some features of this are:
• Configure and manage multiple blogs
• Comment moderation including the ability to reply to comments
• Create and Edit Posts including categories, tags and photos
• Create and Edit Pages
• Get notified of new comments in the Android notification bar

There’s been quite a bit of communication news from Android at CES, and Nimbuzz is a contributor to that gathering storm. Nimbuzz is a calling and chat application that lets users place calls or chat with friends for free. Facebook, MySpace, Skype, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, AIM, Google Talk and more are supported by this app. It has functioning for VoIP calling and surprisingly includes that ability to transfer files
between users.

So who doesn’t like the SENSE UI on the latest HTC smartphones? I guess is safe to say that most of those who see it, fall in love with it. Heck, there’s even a leaked Sense UI ROM for Android 2.1 out there. You don’t have an HTC phone? Well, that might not be a problem now, as long as you have an Android-based phone.
