LG’s first Android in South Korea will be called either Andro-1 or LG-KH5200. The company has yet to make it’s way stateside but they have several Android phones in different markets around the world. It has a 3-inch touchscreen, slide out QWERTY keyboard, GPS, HSDPA, EDGE, GRPS, Social Networking, 2MP Camera, Radio Tuner and MicroSD input and Android 1.5.

Telecoms Korea has reported that LG plans to ship its new LG LU2300 with augmented reality services built-in. LG is entering late in the Android game. Hopefully they can bring something special to the table like another newcomer has, Motorola. I would like to see the rumored LG Duo with decent screen sizes.

The augmented reality services will not be similar to a few apps you’re already familiar with- like Google Goggles and Layar. Goggles allows you to take snapshots of objects, logos, and bar codes for more information and price comparisons, Layar allows you to see additional information about a place through your camera’s “viewfinder”. For now this is just a rumor but it would be interesting to see these things implemented in a different way.

LG has been selling some great phone on the Verizon network for years. But as the name on our site implies, we’re mostly interested in Android handsets. We’ve seen a few Android phones from LG, but up until now, they have only been available in the European market.

Late last night, we got word that LG will be launching two new Android phones on Verizon’s network before April! While going over the 2010 Sprint lineup on VZW with an LG rep, our source learned that one handset would be a full touch device (similar to the HTC DROID Eris) while the other would feature a full QWERTY keyboard and described it as having an LG EnV Touch form factor. At this point, we’re not sure exactly what that means. As you might already know, the LG EnV Touch flips open to reveal the QWERT and a smaller secondary screen. My suspicion is that the QWERTY equipped Android phone heading to Verizon will be more like the LG GW620. Fortunately, Mobile World Congress is only two weeks out, so we should see full specs, picture, and maybe even launch dates and pricing by the end of the show.

The details are pretty light, however it does kind of sort of coincide with those earlier Sprint/Android rumors and what we may be seeing get announced during CES. Or it could simply be nothing exciting, but at this point and given the lack of details, I would like to sit back and hope for the something exciting.

Most of you already know that LG has recently jumped into the Android bandwagon with the LG GW620 or Eve, which is their first smartphone running on Google’s free mobile OS. Now, according to the latest rumors in the blogosphere, LG might use Android OS in their top of the line phone; the PRADA.

C’mon, little Android handset, don’t be shy; just because you have 10 or so cousins that decided to come out to play before you did doesn’t mean you’re any less important. You just have higher expectations, that’s all.
The Android device I speak of is called the GT540, which just popped up in a user agent profile, an internal document of sorts that is essentially made for most upcoming devices. This would be the second Android that LG can put its name on, of course preceded by the GW620 which would likely have similar specs.

Are you less than excited about LG’s GW620 (pictured below)? If so, is it because it’s headed to Canada, or because it seems too cuddly to be powerful? I think the phone looks like a cute social and messaging device but I don’t expect it to be a multi-tasking beast, despite the use of monsters in the Eve’s commercials. I could be wrong of course. We don’t know all that much about what’s under the GW620’s hood. (cont.)
