The Canadian carrier Wind Mobile, has been rumored to be getting the Motorola Milestone XT720. The Milestone would be Wind’s most high-end device, and would only be the second Android handset available from the carrier. On top of that, they would be the first Canadian carrier to have the phone available.

The nation’s largest privately held wireless provider, Cellular South, is giving its customers something to smile about with the addition of the Motorola Milestone to its lineup. Available for $149.99 after rebate with a 2 year contract, the Milestone ships with Android 2.1 and features a 550MHz processor, a 3.7-inch touchscreen with an 854×480 resolution, a slide-out QWERTY keypad and a 5 MP camera.

The international flipping continues from Motorola, with the Motorola Backflip as well as the Milestone XT720 coming to India recently.
The Backflip, at 22,990 INR (or $499), is the less expensive of the two, housing a 3.1 inch screen along with the usual Android connectivity options: WiFi, GPS, and stereo Bluetooth. It also has a 5 MP camera with flash and comes with a 2 GB card to hold those pictures you take. Naturally, it also sports the unique flipping keyboard for which it is named. The price comes at a…er…price, however. The Backflip is oddly running Android 1.5, several version behind of what is currently available.

Apparently, the MILESTONE missed the initial Android 2.2 bus. But, hey, at least it’s getting it at all, right? We had actually heard rumors (which spurred from Motorola themselves, mind you) that the MILESTONE might not be getting upgraded to Android 2.2 at all. But, that’s not the case for the MILESTONE that’s branded with O2 Germany’s decal.

Bad news for Motorola Milestone users. Apparently, Motorola are still undecided on whether or not they should bring Android 2.2 (Froyo) to the Motorola Milestone. The marketing director of the Motorola European region, James King, states that Motorola has yet to make final decision on whether they will be offering Froyo to their users.

The Motorola Milestone XT720 has finally gone on sale in the UK, although it isn’t available through any of the UK’s mobile phone networks just yet, it is being sold by one UK retailer unlocked.
The Motorola Milestone XT720 features a 3.7 inch WVGA multi touch capacitive display with a resolution of 480 x 854, and it has an 8 megapixel camera with a Xenon Flash and a ten times digital zoom, the camera is capable of recording HD video in 720p.

The Motorola Milestone, the international version of the original Droid, is getting some update love. Except, well, they’re not. Before we get to the bad news, take a gander at what the update was supposed to fix. Stabilization and improvement of the device’s overall performance. It fixes force closing issues, bug fixes for the alarm, random reboots, and improved music player functionality with enhancements to the device’s audio quality. Also, they have tweaked the proximity sensor to be more accurate during calls to prevent the screen from staying on while you are on the call.

Awhile back there was a rumor that T-Mobile will be getting a device similar to the Droid but without the keyboard and a better camera. Well, that rumor may come true soon, the Motorola Milestone XT720 could make its way into their stores. It has T-mobile compatible 3G bands.

Motorola [MOT] has announced the Motorola MILESTONE XT720 for those of us in the UK.
The new Motorola MILESTONE has dropped the keyboard and also now includes hi-def recording and output. With the keyboard being dropped, the new MILESTONE is now slimmer than the previous version. It measures 10.9mm now compared to the 13.7mm when the keyboard was attached.
