If you’re the (proud) owner of a Samsung Behold 2, then you know all about the chaos that happened when the manufacturer declared Android 1.6 was as good as it would get for updates. But, it’s better than nothing. Then again, you may look at it another way, and of course we can’t stop you. If you did get the update to Android 1.6, and you noticed that your device was suddenly having some signal issues, you actually aren’t the only one. In fact, it was happening enough that T-Mobile USA felt the need to pull the update completely.

The lack of support from everyone involved with this phone has been the focal point of many people losing faith in Samsung. It’ll probable never see Android 2.0+ even though there is a petition going around to make this happen. Regardless, we are hearing word that the OTA to 1.6 has started to arrive on a few Behold ll’s.

The debacle that is the update schedule (or, lack of a schedule, really) for the Samsung Behold II is something that we covered just a few weeks for you. And, while we do admit that it’s not very good news for Behold II owners out there that were expecting to get Android 2.x, we do have to say that at least they’re getting an upgrade at all. After all, considering the Samsung Moment probably did world’s better sales wise for Sprint than the Behold II did for T-Mobile, it wouldn’t have surprised us if they just looked over the Behold II completely.

Samsung came under fire the last couple of days because of their Behold II handset, which launched on T-Mobile USA a few months back. When it did launch, it did so with Android 1.5, and as you’re probably more than aware, that put the handset at a big disadvantage as the months rolled by, and Google released applications that could only be utilized with the 1.6 version. And, of course, then came Android 2.x.

So yesterday was the day the Samsung Behold 2 came out to the general public, woohoo! But, what happened? T-mobile sure didn’t do anything exciting about it. I guess they knew that the $229.99 sticker price on it was a little too high.

T-Mobile have recently gone official with the Samsung Behold II handset, going for $449.99 or $20.50 per month outright, once it hits the stores on November 18th . There’s also the option of a $229.99 2 year contract, if you’re not afraid of commitments this early on.

The guys over a tmonews.com have managed to get their hands on an pricing sheet for T-Mobile’s upcoming Samsung Behold II Android phone.

According to the leaked info, the Samsung Behold II will be available on T-Mobile priced at $199.99 as part of a 2 year service contract with the network.

T-Mobile has a been a beacon of light for the Android platform and it doesn’t seem as if they’re letting up. We were already pretty sure the Samsung Behold 2 would be an Android Phone since it was seen in close proximity to the Android name on the User Agent Profile and at the Wi-Fi Alliance.
